000webhost.com Server46 under DDoS for almost 2 weeks

About two weeks ago server46.000webhost.com was taken down because of an incoming DDoS attack.
Amazingly the server is still down and users start wondering if it will ever be back up and running. I admit that it’s kinda hard to believe that the DDoS is still ongoing and to be honest with you i doubt that too. Who would DDoS a server for like 2 weeks flat? All the other attacks on their servers are over within a few hours or 2 days tops. just the one on server46 takes two weeks and no signs of incoming traffic decreasing yet?

The announcement they put up in the control panel reads:

We have just received a HUGE (over 3GB/s incoming traffic) DDoS attack targeting the Server #46. Our CISCO guard firewall was unable to handle such attack, so one of the server IP address – 31.170.162.3 was disabled (all the rest websites on this server are working fine).

If your website is using this IP (due to unique IP rotation system only 3% websites are using this IP) it might be unavailable until Saturday. As soon attack will subside, this IP address will be enabled and your website will start working again. We thank you for your patience and understanding.

That was like two weeks ago, and no further updates were made to the announcement. Occasionally they seem to at least check the IPs of the server to see if they still get flooded by incoming requests. Maybe after all it is not a DDoS attack but a similar problem to server18 which had to be replaced a few months back. It became unavailable all of a sudden, a DDoS was assumed but in the end it turned out the harddrives of the server were malfunctioning. So let’s keep fingers crossed that server46 will be back soon
